Free ATMs for laundromats.

Coin machines, card-loading kiosks, dryers that need one more quarter and a customer who’s stuck there for two hours: a laundromat is one of the most natural homes for an ATM there is.

The case for cash

Why an ATM makes sense for a laundromat.

An ATM for your laundromat costs you nothing with BayTM’s free placement program: no machine to buy, no lease, no monthly fee and no minimum volume. Laundromat customers are on site for an hour or more, and many machines — washers, dryers, vending and card-loading kiosks — are paid for with cash that has to come from somewhere. An ATM gives customers a way to get bills without leaving mid-cycle. It complements your change machine and card kiosk rather than replacing them.

BayTM places, loads and services ATMs in laundromats across California. Because many laundromats are unattended for part of the day, our remote monitoring and 24/7 support line are a particularly good fit: we know when a machine needs attention before your customers do.

Where cash shows up

Where cash comes up.

  • I

Bills for your kiosk or changer

If your store runs on a card-loading kiosk or a bill-to-coin changer, customers need bills to start. The ATM dispenses bills; your changer or kiosk does the rest.

  • II

    Fewer mid-cycle trips

Customers who run short can get cash on site instead of leaving a load in the machine to find an ATM.

  • III

    Vending, snacks and detergent

Customers with two hours to wait spend on soap, snacks and drinks — if they have cash in hand.

Placement

Where we’d put it

  • Near the entrance or beside the change machine and card kiosk, where customers already go for cash.
  • In full view of your cameras and, where possible, visible from the street for after-hours reassurance.
  • Bolted and well-lit — standard for our placements and especially important in unattended stores.

Operations

How we run it

  • Remote monitoring of cash levels and machine health, so unattended hours aren’t unwatched hours.
  • Cash loading scheduled ahead of your weekend peaks, when laundromats are busiest.
  • No cost, no lease and no minimum volume, and a 24/7 support line.

Questions

Questions we hear from laundromats.

Is an ATM safe in a laundromat that isn’t always staffed?

Yes, with sensible placement. The machine is anchored, monitored remotely and covered by your cameras, and the cash inside is BayTM’s responsibility, not yours. We’ll recommend the safest spot during the location review.

We use laundry cards, not coins. Does an ATM still help?

Very much. Customers load laundry cards with cash at the kiosk, and an ATM next to it means they can load what they actually need instead of what’s in their pocket.

How much does an ATM for a laundromat cost?

With free placement, nothing. BayTM covers the machine, installation, cash loading, connectivity, maintenance and repairs, and there is no monthly fee. Customers see a convenience fee on screen before they confirm a withdrawal. For a full comparison with buying, see free placement vs. owning an ATM.

Where should an ATM go in a laundromat?

Right beside the change machine or card-loading kiosk, so customers can go straight from the ATM to loading their card or getting coins. Keep it near the entrance and in full camera view, which matters most during unattended hours.

Does the ATM replace our change machine?

No. An ATM dispenses bills, not coins. It complements your bill-to-coin changer or card-loading kiosk, which still needs to be stocked and maintained as it is today. What the ATM adds is a way for customers to get bills in the first place.
